FORT MITCHELL FIRE/EMS

Established in 1928, the Fort Mitchell Fire Department has grown over the years with the addition of an EMS service in 1980 and a merger with the life squad in 2003. The Fire Department has an ISO Class II Fire Insurance Rating and was recognized as Greater Cincinnati’s Firehouse of the Year in 2007. It also utilizes the NFPA 1001 Standard on Firefighter Qualifications, consistent with the Kentucky State Fire Commission training standards. The department further enhanced its Emergency Medical Services, with the inception of its Advanced Life Support program in 2011. Through the Fort Mitchell Fire Departments dedication to advanced training and certifications, support is provided to a multitude of regional and state agencies to include the Northern Kentucky SWAT team, Northern Kentucky Technical Rescue Team, Kenton County Fire Investigation Task Force, Kentucky State Fire Marshall’s Office, and the Northern Kentucky All Hazard Incident Management Team.
