The Fort Mitchell Fire Department, established in 1928, celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2003. Over the years, the department has become one of the finest equipped and most well trained departments in the state. The area covered by the Fort Mitchell Fire Department enjoys a Class 3 Fire Protection Classification. This is an extremely good rating for a combination fire department and means savings on the fire-insurance premiums paid by citizens. The service area of the Fort Mitchell Fire Department encompasses an area of six square miles and a population of 13,847 residents approximately three miles south of the City of Cincinnati. In addition to the City of Fort Mitchell, the department’s service area includes the cities of Crestview Hills and LakesidePark via contract.
