We offer several parks and a recreation program that enhances the quality of life for our residents. And Fort Mitchell is is fortunate to be located in an ideal location within the Cincinnati metropolitan area and are located close to the Cincinnati airport, offering a convenient location for both residents and businesses. Fort Mitchell is blessed with the Beechwood Independent School District, which provides one of the top public school educations in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and with Blessed Sacrament School, a National School of Excellence -- Blue Ribbon School, which provides an exceptional parochial grade school K thru 8. The City also boasts several churches that serve as central focal points of the community. Centrally located are grocery and other shopping venues, and the City is home to several prominent corporations, who make Fort Mitchell their headquarters. The City boasts several exceptional restaurants. Most importantly, Fort Mitchell, through the residents who call it home, believe in a strong sense of community, where neighbors care about each other and the City we call home.

Residents Are Encouraged to Get Involved!
Apply to Serve on a Fort Mitchell City Board or on a Committee of Council
Fort Mitchell has a proud tradition of volunteerism in our community, from the many who have served on the Fort Mitchell Fire Department and Life Squad, to those who have served as elected officials on City Council, to those who got their hands dirty beautifying the city with the Garden Club, and those who unselfishly give of their time by serving in other capacities such as the Board of Adjustment or Park and Tree Boards. While our volunteer fire department was founded back in 1928, the volunteer spirit is still alive and well in the city and throughout the community! Many of our residents also dedicate their time in the schools, churches, booster's associations, athletic clubs, and charitable organizations in the area. The hard work and dedication of all these generous people helped to make our city what it is today and continue to make this a great place to live, work and play. If you are interested in serving on one of the current city boards or on one of the new Committees of Council, please complete and return the form below to the Mayor's office so you can be considered for any openings that may become available. Remember that meetings of these boards and committees are open to the public. Residents are welcome to come to a few meetings to see what their work is about or, if you can't commit the time to serve on a board but would just like to share some ideas, feel free to attend a meeting, contact one of the members serving, or just contact the city building with your comments. The administrative staff at the city (859-331-1212) is always ready to relay messages to the Mayor and Council, the proper board, or city department. Your input and participation is valuable to us! If you'd like to volunteer please return the form to:
Mayor Chris Wiest, 2355 Dixie Hwy. / P.O. Box 17157, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017-0157
